COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective The students who take this course know the protection of the child, the concepts of child rights; it is aimed to have up-to-date information about the subject and features of child law. It aims to have knowledge about the historical development of children's rights in world law, children's rights in international treaties, basic principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, child and legal status in Turkish Law System. Other outcomes of the course are social assistance and security and knowledge of public law, treatment of the child in education and employment law and knowledge of special child law. It is aimed that psychological counselors know role in legal process about child rights.
Course Content The concept of child protection, the concept of child law, concept of children's rights, historical development of children's rights in world law, children's rights in international treaties, basic principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, child and legal status in Turkish legal system, , special children's law, social assistance and security, the handling of children in education and employment law, the duty of psychological counselors to protect children's rights, the roles and functions of psychological counselors
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
