COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective This course aims to know the importance, necessity, functions and types of museums and to create the museum-education projects.
Course Content The history of museology, types, aims and requirement of museum, museum and education, visiting of museum, preparing and practicing museum guide for K12 school students, definition of a museum, exposition, analyzing the works of art in the museum as historical, aesthetic and critical, practicing.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Explains the information about the history, types, purposes and functions of museology.
2Evaluates the relations of the museum with art, society and education.
3Relates museum education practices with disciplines such as art criticism, aesthetics, and art history.
4Explains the historical and aesthetic values concretely, based on the works found in the near environment in museum education.
5Explains the national character, cultural thought and structure of the cultural works in their homeland together with the universal works.
6Designs projects for museum education for primary and secondary school art classes.
7Prepares a student guide for museum visits.
8Encourages the creative thinking through art education in the museum.
9Plan various making activities by using of the artifacts and remains in the museum.
10Demonstrates determination to arouse interest in, value and protect the works of art through art education in the museum.
11Evaluates the similarities and differences between works of art belonging to different cultures.
12Follows the publications about museums and art education.
