Course Objective The aim of this course is to enable visual arts teacher candidates to explain the formation process of Turkish art in Republic period and to make evaluations on contemporary Turkish art.
Course Content 19th century art environment; military painters; Turkish primitive painters; pioneers of sculpture art; the generation of 1914 and Şişli Workshop; Group D; 1. National Architecture Period; Sculpture and painting in the first twenty years of the Republic; II. National Architecture Period; Abstract tendencies in Turkish painting; 1950s and modernism; 1960s and post-modernist approaches in art; general evaluation on contemporary Turkish art.
