Course Objective Understanding photography culture in today's visual culture discussions, learning and classifying the usage areas of photography, making applications related to them. Using photography as an artistic expression way in various uses. Benefiting from experimental photography studies and digital editing. To produce photography projects in various categories.
Course Content The Major Studio - Photography 3 course covers two semesters, fall and spring. It includes photography culture and today's visual culture discussions, the areas of use and classification of photography and related workshop practices. As subject titles, (1) seeing through the device, darkroom metaphors, photographic reality and reproduction, photography art and movements, photographic aesthetics, the place of photographic image in modernism and postmodern culture, mass media and visuality in new media order, (2) Areas of use of photography; news and documentary photography, special moment photography, extreme photography (such as sports, underwater, air), industrial promotion and advertisement photography, studio photography, stop motion, timelapse applications, creative-experimental applications and art photography in photography, nature, human (portrait) photography, urban and rural environmental photography, etc. and including subcategories of these. In the spring, shots are supported by technical trips. Project-based studies are carried out individually and as a group. Analogue and digital techniques are used in studies.

1The student who takes this course, (1) knows and discusses the place of photography culture in visual culture.

5(5) Knows digital photography techniques and try to experimental practices on image with image processing programs.
6(6) Establishes a relationship between photography and other visual arts.
