COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective This course includes extended applications of the theoretical knowledge given in the previous semester. Basically, it aims to improve the composition and expression skills depending on the visual perception with the experience of using the camera effectively. In particular, lighting, motion factor, depth of field, white balance, perspective, such as the variable of learning and practice done, the people and the environment focused on reading and shots made of photographs, implementation of the necessary digital processing after the shooting and is aimed to know the development of photography in Turkey .
Course Content Major Studio Photography 2 course contains historical development of photography and photographers experience in Turkey, extended shooting techniques, operating mode in digital photography (manual, shutter-aperture priority), lighting knowledge and the light of the effective use, color temperature, white balance, exposure compensation and wide exposure range (HDR), ISO factor, etc. The importance of visual perception and optical factor (lenses) and the principles of composition in photography are applied in the form of active and passive compositions with indoor and outdoor preferences. Movement factor and depth of field knowledge, which are the basic elements of photographic information, are tested with various compositions. Expression elements and photo readings are made in photos focused on environment and people. At the end of the process, basic digital operations, recording formats, photo processing, filing, archiving studies are performed. Since it is a spring period; project based work, presentation file preparation and exhibition studies are done.

1The student who takes this course (1) knows the development of photography in Turkey.
