Course Objective This course includes basic photography knowledge. To recognize the camera, which is a technological invention and to understand its historical importance, to physically understand the camera obscura and optical projection, to learn camera components and working principles, to distinguish analog and digital recording types. It is aimed to get to know the various materials and equipment used in photography and to understand the importance of exposure especially by learning light sensitive materials, to make analog and digital photography applications, to learn basic shooting techniques and basic composition principles used in photography, to make black and white dark room applications, to understand the possibilities of digital photography.
Course Content Major Studio Photography 1 course is the introductory part of the six-semester teaching process. In this chapter; historical development of photography, related basic concepts and terms, camera knowledge and working system, basic components; aparture, shutter (shutter), ISO, lens, analog and digital recording types and differences between them, shooting techniques and exposure information, equivalence rules, exposure range and balance, white balance, the use of light and lighting information, auxiliary materials and equipment, camera test shots that support teaching, analog photography and light sensitive materials, chemicals, black and white dark room knowledge and basic applications, introduction to digital (digital) photography and basic concepts, bright room applications; image processing computer programs and basic composition information are covered.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1The student who takes this course,(1) knows the historical development of photography.
2(2) understand and use the camera's operating principles.
3(3) know analog and digital photography comparatively.
4(4) recognizes the various materials and equipment used in photography.
5(5) recognizes the photosensitive materials and relates the subject of exposure.
6(6) makes analog and digital photography applications.
7(7) has the knowledge of basic composition used in photography.
