Course Objective The aim of this course is to help pre-service teachers develop a perspective on the meaning of art and its place in human life, to realize the contribution of including art and museums in education in general and in social studies education in particular, to develop an attitude towards being an art and museum audience and to develop their knowledge and skills to use of these fields in social studies education.
Course Content Defining concepts such as aesthetics, creativity, art criticism and art history; examining examples of works of art from different cultures and periods from the beginning to the present; a contemporary understanding of art and aesthetics; museum and its function; the importance of using the museum for educational purposes in social studies; social studies teaching practices in the museum.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
