Course Objective The aim of this course is to examine the political, social and cultural consequences of the historical development of political thought in the process from the first ages of humanity to the recent ages; In this context, the aim is to evaluate the place of ancient Greek and Roman political thought, Western and Turkish-Islamic political thought from the Middle Age to the Recent Age in the common history of humanity. It is to analyze the place in the political thought life of the modern age of Western political thought which started with the Reform and Renaissance in the development of political thought and gained a new dimension in the era of revolutions.
Course Content Ancient Greek and Roman political thought, Western and Turkish Islamic political thought from the Middle Ages to the Modern Age, leading figures of political thought that started with the Reform and Renaissance and continued with the age of revolutions in the development of modern thought, the effects and main features of political thought of this period in the historical development of political thought.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.

1To be able to explain the stages and formation conditions of the history of political thought of humanity
2To be able to evaluate the place and importance of the ancient east and west in the history of humanity's political thoughts
3To be able to comprehend the place of Western and Turkish-Islamic thought in the common history of humanity from the Middle Ages to the New Age
4To be able to evaluate the development of the Reformation, Renaissance Enlightenment and Industrial Revolution in the field of political thoughts of the recent humanity
5To be able to analyze the place of the era of revolutions that started with the American and French revolutions in the history of political thought
6To be able to determine the effects of the political thought in the West on the Ottoman Turks
7To be able to evaluate the place of Ottoman Turkish enlightenment in the political context in recent Turkish history
8To be able to analyze the effect and place of political thought, which had the opportunity to develop among the Ottoman intellectuals, in the founding cadres of the Republic and the Republican period
9To be able to evaluate the effect of the political thought that developed in the line from the 18th century to the 20th century on the formation of the contemporary world
10To be able to comprehend the leading role of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in Turkish modernization.
11To be able to evaluate national and global social problems from a critical point of view
