Course Objective	To be able to comprehend the place of the Middle Ages in shaping the new and recent ages of humanity by evaluating the dynamics of the political, social, cultural, religious, artistic and scientific life of the Middle Ages Europe and Asia.
Course Content	The political structure of Europe in the Middle Ages; Christianity and the religious structure of Europe; religion-state-science relationship (aristocracy-clergy classes struggle); The political structure of Europe in the Middle Ages; Christianity and the religious structure of Europe; religion-state-science relationship (aristocracy-clergy struggle); Socio-economic structure of Europe; Culture and civilization in medieval Europe (the emergence of scientific mentality in late medieval Europe, the interaction of the Andalusian Umayyads' science and philosophy with central European and British science, Thomas Aquinas, Roger Bacon); The political structure of Asia in the Middle Ages; Islam and the religious structure of Asia; Socio-economic structure of Asia in the Middle Ages; Education, science and culture and civilization in Asia (elements of philosophy, science and material civilization in Asia).

1	To analyze the political, social and religious structure of Europe in the Middle Ages
2	To be able to evaluate the relations between religion and state in the political, social and religious structure of Europe in the Middle Ages

4	To be able to evaluate the influence of Andalusian Muslims in the scientific and intellectual development of Europe
