Course Objective This course aims to provide basic information about learning disabilities.
Course Content Definition, characteristics and classification of learning disability: Educational,psychological, medical factors; arc-size and requency of occurrence; reasons for learning difficulty; early intervention; reaction to intervention model; screening / diagnosis: medical, developmental and educational screening / diagnosis; academic and non-academic characteristics; team and cooperation; education-training environments; applications which are scientific support; supporting reading, writing and math skills; non-academic skills.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.

4Explains the reasons, the frequency and the prevalence of learning disabilities.
5Explains the processes of diagnosis and educational evaluation for the individuals with learning disabilities.
6Explains the importance of early intervention for the individuals with learning disabilities.
7Explains the importance of teamwork and co-operation in the learning disabilities.
8Distinguishes the evidence based interventions used in the education of the individuals with learning disabilities from other interventions.
9Explains the process of supporting the academic (reading, writing and mathematics) skills of the individuals with learning disabilities.
10Explains the process of supporting the non-academic skills of individuals with learning disabilities.
