Course Objective To identify the basic concepts and program types about curriculum development; to explain the theoretical background of curriculum development; to analyze the relationship between the basic components of curriculum; to prepare an instructional plan according to the curriculum development stages; to identify and explain curriculum evaluation models and approaches; to examine curriculum development practices in Turkey and the world.
Course Content Basic concepts of curriculum development; theoretical background of curriculum development; types of curriculum; philosophical, social, historical, psychological and economic basics of instructional program; features of curriculum and instructional program; stages of curriculum development; basic components of curriculum development (aims, content, process, evaluation) and the relationships between other components; classifying the aims and their connections with other components; approaches of arranging a content; identifying educational needs; process and models of curriculum development; approaches of curriculum designing; curriculum evaluation models; curriculum literacy; teachers’ duties and responsibilities in curriculum development; characteristics of the MoNE curriculum; implementing the curriculum; contemporary approaches and orientations to curriculum development in Turkey and the world
