COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective The aim of this course is to encourage undergraduates to be familiar with traditional and alternative measurement tools, to know assessment tools identifying students by distinguishing their characteristics and the properties of these tools, to differentiate assessment tools and to increase undergraduates’ awareness of making decisions about students’ learning by recognizing prominent situations evaluating students’ success.
Course Content Assessment tools used in education and properties; traditional approach tools: written exams, short-answer exams, true-false type tests, matching tests, oral questioning; tools helping to recognize students; observation, interview, performance evaluation, portfolios, research projects, peer evaluation, self-evaluation, attitudes scales; prominent situations in evaluating students’ success; evaluation of learning outcomes and grading.
