COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective The aim of this course is to recognize the place and importance of civilization in the history of civilization, to recognize the political, cultural, social and intellectual aspects of Turkish culture starting from Central Asia.
Course Content The first motherland of the Turks; The first civilizations established in the motherland, the life of the Turks before the Huns, the Huns: The Great State, Tribal migration and European Khuns, the Akhuns, the Toluns, the İhşits, the Karahans, the Gazans, the Great Seljuks, the Anatolian Seljuks, the Ottoman Empires (establishment and rise), Ottoman State (Pause and Decay Periods) Other Turkic States (Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and their communities), Culture and Civilization.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1To be able to explain geographical, social, political, cultural, religious, mythological, economical factors shaping Turkish culture
2To be able to analyze the interaction of Turkish culture with other cultures
3To be able to know the Turkish states established in history
4To be able to have the ability to periodization history and culture of Turkish history
5To be able to comprehend that Turkish culture is continuity and integrity
6To be able to analyze the elements of Turkish culture (art, science, literature, mythology, belief etc.)
7To be able to comprehend contribution of Turkish culture to common civilization of mankind
8To be able to identify the countries and cultural areas where Turkish communities lived in the historical process
