Course Objective	The aim of this course is to understand the basic concepts and the historical development of science as well as to understand the importance of being a literate person and to use scientific knowledge in everyday life.
Course Content	Topics and principles of nature / science, basic concepts of science, place of science among other sciences, historical development, aims of science education, general information about science subjects in primary school program, characteristics and daily living counterparts and usage areas
Prerequisites	No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite	No the corequisite of lesson.
Mode of Delivery	Face to Face

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES

1	Learns the concept and principles of nature / science.
2	Interpret the basic concepts of science.
3	Links science and other diciplines.
4	Realizes the importance of historical development of science and history of science.
5	Explains the aims of science education.
6	Gives examples about the properties of science and its usage in daily life.
7	Learn the structure and characteristics of the elementary school science program.
8	Analyzes the general information about the science subjects in the elementary school 3 rd grade program, their characteristics and daily life counterparts and their usage areas.
9	Analyzes the general information about the science subjects in the elementary school 4 th grade program, their characteristics and daily life counterparts and their usage areas.
