Course Objective The purpose of the lesson is to conceive elementary education practices in Turkey and to have a sense about the problems of the area. To conceive principles of Elementary School Programs. To prepare a demonstration paper about integration from early childhood education to elementary education.
Course Content The definition of the school readiness and the factors affecting the school readiness, the dimensions of the school readinesss (physical, social, emotional, cognitive, language, self-care abilities), preparing the activities about school readiness abilities, characteristics of elemantary program and comparison with the early childhood program, prepare activities about literacy activities in early childhood education, assessment methods about the school readiness of young children.
