Course Objective	Understanding the concepts of developmental delay and developmental disability; comprehension of the historical and theoretical foundations of early childhood special education and early intervention (EI); to get information about EI approaches for young children with developmental delays/disabilities; acquisition of knowledge and skills for implementation of Small Steps Early Intervention Program as an example of EI program
Course Content	Essential concepts: developmental delay and developmental disability; Historical and theoretical foundations of early childhood special education and early intervention (EI); Early intervention approaches: child-focused and caregiver-focused approaches of EI; Service delivery models: home-based, center-based, home and center-based model of EI; Early intervention programs in Turkey and the other countries, Small Steps Early Intervention Program
