Course Objective To gain a philosophical view point and to develop skills of critical thinking/philosophical examining. To recognize the differences of contents and methods in philosophy, teology, art and science.To recognize basic philosophical concepts and problems in philosophy.
Course Content Description and content of philosophy – Scopes of philosophy Epistomology Ontology- Axiology -Logic, Description of education- Relationship between philosophy and education-Contributions of philosophy to education, Aprooaches of educational philosophy: Idealism (Socrat, Plato, Hegel)- Realism (Asitoteles, Locke, Hume) and education,perennialism and essentialism comparison of these two educational approaches Naturalism and naturalist educational approach Dialectical materialism Dialectical curriculum Politechnical education Pragmatism and education Progressivism Post-constructivism and globalization in education Existentialism and education Open school system Postmodernist philosophy-Science and education Comparison of modern educational approaches with traditional educational approaches,Philosophies of turkish education system.
