Course Objective This is an introductory course for English Literature from the Anglo-Saxons to the Eighteenth century. Texts from different genres are discussed and analysed. Students will write research papers and make presentations in this course.

1Perceives the history and the geography of Great Britains with the culture
2Establishes the connections of historical, social, cultural and religious aspects in transition from oral literature to the written literature.
3Lays bare differences of the Old English works from the modern English and analyses in terms of literary content.
4Reads sub-texts through symbols and myths by comparing literary texts.
5Expresses and develops ideas by referring to literary texts.
6Establishes cause and effect relationship between the events in the literary texts and characteristics of the period
7Analyzes characters in the texts
8Determines narrative technics and types in the texts
9Develops critical perspective on literary texts
10Makes comparisons between historical period and work
11Expresses in written form the findings in the critically analyzed and read texts.
