Course Objective To know poetry criticism and theories, to conceptualize the facts about poetry and poetry analysis, to analyze poetry with scientific methods and techniques, to interpret and evaluate data, to have knowledge of period, poet, genre and poetics, to compare poetry with other types of literature.
Course Content Birth of poetry, sources of poetry, major poetics from Turkish and world literature, types of poetry, structure of poetry, form in poetry, language of poetry, theory and criticism of poetry, poetry studies.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1To gain new knowledge and concepts in the field of Turkish Poetry and to gain the ability to perceive the relationships between information and concepts.
2Gaining the skill of accessing the sources on Turkish Poetry Knowledge, making use of the resources within the framework of scientific criteria.
3To gain the ability to analyze, criticize and interpret the information in the field of Turkish Poetry in the world of knowledge and thought.
4To know the scientific methods in the field of Turkish Poetry Knowledge, to be able to compile and gain the ability to analyze them.
5To gain knowledge and hardware skills to deepen the knowledge in the field of Turkish Poetry Knowledge and perform applied studies.
6To be able to recognize the other disciplines in the field of Turkish Language and Literature and gain the ability of looking at it completely by making comparative studies and analysis with Turkish World Literature.
7To gain the ability to prepare cultural elements nationally and universally with the knowledge gained in the field of Turkish Poetry, and to prepare them for new and current productions.
8To gain the ability to transfer the acquired information orally and in written form in an easy and understandable way.
