Course Objective It is aimed to define the material knowledge and deterioration processes of the stone used in archaeological sites, historical and religious buildings.
Course Content Stone formation, stone types and characteristics, stone workmanship; removal of stone from quarries, transportation, tools used in stone workmanship, marks left on stone and stone workmanship stages. Elements that cause the deterioration of stones used in archaeological sites, historical and religious buildings, physical, chemical and biological deterioration, identification of stone defects, determination of the conservation status of stone works, documentation and report preparation.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
