Course Objective This course is aimed to know, animal groups inhabited in Turkey, morphologic characters of animals, distributions, red list category of animals.
Course Content origin of Turkish Fauna, biological richness and conservation of biodiversity, geological formation of Anatolia and Thrace, general elements of fauna.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.

11Lists extinct and endangered animal species in Turkey.
10Describes general elements of fauna.
9Explains ways to spread of fresh water fish around The Mediterranean and Eastern Aisa.
1Explains the concept of fauna and origin of Turkish Fauna
2Defines biodiversity and vital importance of biodiversity for human life.
5Describes the components of fauna in geological periods (Paleozoic-Mesozoic-Cenozoic).
3Explains biological richness and conservation of biodiversity (in situ, ex-situ conservation of a target species or community).
4States the importance of National Parks and Nature Protected Area in terms of conservation of biodiversity.
8Describes Anatolian land fauna and their relationships in glacial period (Pleistocene).
7Defines entrance gate of fauna, significant barriers that prevent animal crossing, and Anatolian diagonal.
6Describes geological formation of Anatolia and Thrace.
