Course Objective The main goal of this course is to teach the importance and necessities of the biostatistics, the way of calculating the tests and to which data they can apply and how the results were interpreted. These will also be demonstrated via computer package programs using the examples of the possible studies in the field of Biology.
Course Content Descriptive statistics, Chi-square test, T-test, Type-I and Type-II errors, Kruskal-Wallis variance analyses and Mann-Whitney U test.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
Mode of Delivery Face to Face

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Describes and explain the Descriptive statistics, Deductive statistics and some statistical terms.
2Explains the calculation of descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation, standard error, median, minimum and maximum values).
3The introduction of Excel, Minitab and SPSS statistical programmes and their usage.
4Describes and explain the usage of graphs and tables.
5Describes and explain the data types, how to collect and summarize these data with tables and graphs. The types of the statistical tests, hypothesis and how the accept or reject the hypothesis and type 1 and 2 errors.
6Describes and explain the regression analyses and correlation coefficient values.
7Describes and explain the calculation and obtaining the results via computer programmes and the interpretation of the results of Chi-square test, the regression and correlation analyses, t-test with matched unmatched samples.
8Describes and explain the calculation and obtaining the results via computer programmes and the interpretation of the results of Analyses of variance with one-way, two-way and Tukey.
9Describes and explain the calculation and obtaining the results via computer programmes and the interpretation of the results of Kruskal-Wallis variance analyses and Mann-Whitney U test.
10Describes and explain the comparison of these tests with different examples, which test to which data?
