COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective The aim of this course is to investigate some selected experiments related to elementary concepts in basic geometric optics.
Course Content Reflection and Refraction of Light, Spherical Mirrors, Lenses, Critical Angle and Total Reflection, Light Prism, Double Slit Interference, Single Slit Diffraction, Polarization of Light, Michellson’s Interferometer, Continuous Spectrum, Discrete Spectrum.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
Mode of Delivery Face to Face

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1To apply the laws of refraction and reflection.
2To form image of a matter in plane mirror.
3To find focal point of the lens and to form image.
4To determine the critical angle and calculate refraction indice of the transparent environment.
5To measure the refractive angle at prisms.
6To find wavelength of light using the interference.
7To use the Michelson interferometre.
8To apply the Brewester law by polarization of the light.
