COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective To have knowledge about theories of gender. Process of instituting the system of gender relations and forces of the grasp of men and women. System to grasp the relationship between gender and the gender order and regime of the social system and to examine the interaction between social institutions.
Course Content Women and science as a social category. Institutionalization of the women's movement in the world and in Turkey. Ottoman women's movement. Women's organization in Turkey. Violence against women and patriarchy. The EU process, women's rights and equality policies. Women's poverty and social policies. Sexuality, culture and media.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
