Course Objective The aim of this course is to introduce the student to the philosophical systems of the most influential thinkers of the post-medieval era.
Course Content Detailed study of important concerns shared by some 17th century philosophers. The philosophers studied will include Descartes, Spinoza, Leibniz and Hobbes. The emphasis will be on their contributions to metaphysics, epistemology and ethics. Topics may include the theory of ideas, substance, the mind/body problem, time, and causation.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
