Course Objective Teaching of recent innovations in the science of Chemistry to the non-chemistry majors. Teaching ways to the knowledge with the help of data. This is done by explaining the benefits of chemistry, and its practical advantages to human life.
Course Content Alchemy, definition of chemistry, research fields, water treatment, harms of smoking and etc. Its contribution to Physics, Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Food, Textile, and Industry. Its contribution to Medicine, Veterinary, and Agriculture. Recent innovations in the science of Chemistry. Nuclear energy. Gold recovery by cyanide. What is Green Chemistry? GMO. What is Genetics and Blue Chemistry? Material science (recycling paper, glass, and plastics). Evaluation of NOBEL awards in Chemistry. Nanoparticles and nanotechnology. Superconductivity and its applications. Fossil fuels, renewable energy sources and chemistry
