Course Objective The aim of this course is analyze the ceramic art and political situation of Aegean and Mediterranean in 2000 BCE. The objectives of this course are, to examine that the ceramic art of Minoan and Mycenae civilization and the traces of these civilization upon Mediterranean culture.
Course Content The progress of ceramic art, regional variations and styles will be told by presenting the ceramic production and terminology.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Examine the general characteristics of Aegean and Mediterranean pottery during 2nd millennium BC. And the political situation.
2Examine the Minoan civilization and its pottery.
3Examine the appearance of Mycenaean civilization, the political events and the Mycenaean pottery.
4Examine the impacts of Mycenaean culture on Anatolian culture and political history.
5Have a basic knowledge about the political situation and pottery of Aegean and Mediterranean area during the 1st millennium B.C.
6Examine general characteristics of geometric pottery by comparing different examples from several production centers.

1 A general information will be given about The Civilization of Mycenae.
2 Information will be given about Late Helladic First Stage in Mycenae Pottery Art, and samples will be examined.
3 Informations will be given about Late Helladic Second Stage, and also samples will be examined.
4 Information will be given about Late Helladic Third Stage in Mycenae Pottery Art and samples will be examined. Reference will be given about Pictorial Style Vases , which are started to seen in this period, and issue that described the vases surface.
5 Samples will be given about Mycenae’s settlements which are seen in Anatolia and their finds.
6 Information will be given about Sub-Mycenae Period and find’s samples will be analyzed.
7 A general information will be given about Amphora and types of amphora will be shown.
8 Information will be given about shapes of Crater- Oinochoe-Lekythoi.
9 Information will be given about Protogeometric Period and vase samples of this period will be examined.
10 General informations will be presented about Geometric Period.
11 Information will be given about Early Geometric Period and periodical features will be explained.
12 Information will be given about Middle Geometric Period and Periodical features will be explained with vase samples.
13 Information will be given about Dipylon Vases. Prothesis and Ekphora stages which are seen on vase’s surface will be examined.
14 Informations will be given about Late Geometric Period and periodical features will be explained with vase examples.
