Course Objective The aims of the course are to describe concepts of town and village in the Archaic period, to know how the urbanizations occur and have an idea about the Archaic period urbanization and urban planning. The objective of the course is to express the knowledge and experience in writing about research subject.
Course Content Firstly, the district of cities will be told in accordance with their structures and geographical characteristics.

1Define the concepts of village and city from the beginning of archaic period and know where the urbanization started
2Know and investigate the town plans of archaic period
3Know the basic elements of a classical period city
4To be able to comment about urbanization in Classical Period
5To be able to comment about urbanization and cities in Hellenistic Period
6To be able to comment about urbanization and cities in Roman Period
7Express the results of the researches orally and written

3 To study on Priene, Latmos Heraclea, Cnidus that was built on the middle of 4th century BC.
4 To study on Selinus, Akragas, Metapontum and Neopolis that situated in Italy, belongs to 5th century BC.
5 To study on Alexandria, Smyrna, Troia – Ilion, Alexandria Troas cities that built on request of Great Alexander in Egypt and Western Anatolia.
6 To study on Ephesus, Lysimacheia, Miletos that built on by Lysimachus.
