Course Objective The aim of this course is to lecture on the political, social and cultural importance of Turkish states (founded) in Syria, in Turkish and World history.
Course Content The aim of this course is to teach students the Turkish states founded in Syria and their histories. The related subjects are Yabgulu Turcoman principality, Syrian Seljuk State, Great Seljuk State of the kings of Aleppo and Dimhask, Anatolian Seljuk State, Fatimids and their relations with the crusaders, the period of the main principalities, Tugtekinogullari, Zengids and their relations.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1To teach migration and settlement of Turkmens to Syria.
2To teach the effect of geographical conditions in establishment of the Yabgulu Turkmen Beylic and the political social and economic structure during that period in Syria.
3To analyze Turkmen Beylics’ depending on Great Seljuk Empire, and Turks’ under the control of them efects on struggles survive with Arabs and the other communities in the region among the states.
4To teach Crusade and its activities, analyses Crusade's results in the region.
5To teach movements of idea and philosophy in the medieval Islamic world.
6To teach and analyse the political history of Syria Seljuk Empire.
7To examine the instution of Atabeg, and evaluate the political and socio-economic developments providing establishment of Tugtekiogullari(Atabeg in Damascus) and Zengiler(Atabeg)
8To teach the results and relationships of Atabegs with the Fatimid Empire of Egypt and the Crusaders.
