Course Objective This course aims at analyzing Seljukid culture and civilization which was means of a bridge between the Ottoman state and Central Asian Turkish civilization.
Course Content Common characteristics of medieval Turkish-Islamic States, Seljukid Palace Organization and life, Seljukid Governmental Organization, Diwans in Great Seljuk Empire, Organizations of the Provinces, Military Organization, Social Life, Cultural Institutions, Turkish House, Turkish Diet System, Turkish Customs, Religious Politics, Agriculture and Livestock, Local Resources of Anatolian Seljuks, Official Documents about Seljuks of Turkey, Seljukids Caravanseries-Commerce, Medicine in the time of Seljukids and Beylicates, Naval Politics of Anatolian Seljukids, Ibnu’l-Cevzi, Sıbt ibn’ül Cevzi, Beyhaki, İbni Bibi and his work, Ahmet Eflakî-Menakibül Arifin, Mewlana and Mawlawiyya, Divan-ı Lügat it- Türk
