COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective The main motivation in the performance of communication action in general and communication professions in particular is to persuade the target audience. Based on this perspective, the course aims to provide basic skills in developing a persuasive communication strategy in areas such as advertising, lobbying, corporate communication, image management and political communication.
Course Content Basic principles of logic, rhetoric, dialectics and eristic dialectics, argumentation and argumentation theories, rational and non-rational techniques in persuasion, media and manipulative communication, persuasion strategies used in public relations and other communication professions.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Gains information about persuasion theories.
2Takes an academic approach to basic logical principles and reasoning.
3By learning rational and non-rational persuasion techniques, one can create persuasive communication strategies in accordance with ethical standards in the practice of the profession.
