COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Associate's Degree

Course Objective To teach students the concepts, principles, rules and information about equipment, technical systems and the design of work to increase human health, safety, comfort and performance.
Course Content The birth of the concept of ergonomics, the definition of ergonomics, its importance, aims, elements. Ergonomic Design Principles. Examination of environmental conditions in the human-machine system: light, color, vibration, noise, toxic gases and dusts. Social environment, characteristics of human and psychological environment, human factors and work efficiency in production and service sector. Physical conditions in the working environment. Control and command mechanisms. Loading and strain, Working and listening times. Work tension, fatigue and boredom. Working energy and energy requirements of jobs. Ergonomics and Work Study Relationship. Shaping workplaces in terms of anthropometric, physiological, organizational and safety. Ergonomic review in workplaces.
