Course Objective The purposes of this course are to provide the students carrying out the projects related with temperate climate fruit species by means of recognizing the production methods, biology of reproduction, ecological demands, morphologic and physiological characteristics of pome (apple,pear,quince, loquat, Trabzon date) and nuts (walnut,hazelnut,pistachio,chestnut, almond) fruits both of which are involved in temperate climate fruit species; to create the new species by breeding and researches; to provide to establish more productive facilities in which are used new techniques; to determine what kind of inputs could be related with these fruit species and also to apply the methodes of the benefitial production.
Course Content Pome fruits apples, pears, walnuts, fruits and nuts, hazelnuts, pistachios, almonds and chestnut morphological, biological characteristics and cultivation techniques are studied.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1To recognize morphologic and physiological characteristics and ecological demands of pome and nuts fruits.
2To recognize biology of reproduction and also productivity features of these kinds of fruits
3To produce these kinds of fruits
4To plan and apply the methodes of obtaining new kinds through these fruit species
5To design and carry out the gardens in which we could gain high yielded and qualified products
6To conduct the gardens established for,
7To provide to serve the products harvested to the consumers healthly,
8To transfer these informations to both producers and consumers.
