OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY DEPARTMENT

General Information

This program that prepares individuals to assist patients limited by physical, cognitive, psychosocial, mental, developmental, and learning disabilities, as well as adverse environmental conditions, to maximize their independence and maintain optimum health through a planned mix of acquired skills, performance motivation, environmental adaptations, assistive technologies, and physical agents. Includes instruction in the basic medical sciences, psychology, sociology, patient assessment and evaluation, standardized and non-standardized tests and measurements, assistive and rehabilitative technologies, ergonomics, environmental health, special education, vocational counseling, health education and promotion, and professional standards and ethics. The Board of Higher Education Law No. 2880 Law No. 2547 of 02.18.2007 pursuant to Article 7/d-2 changes due to this program was continued Institute of the Health Sciences Department of Occupational Therapy.


Objective

This course aims to help occupational therapy graduates advance their knowledge and skills, and become expert practitioners and leaders in their fields. Students can specialise in specific practice areas, such as paediatric occupational therapy, to deepen their understanding of human occupation and the theoretical frameworks used in occupational therapy, and to critically examine the evidence base underpinning occupational therapy practices.
