Department of Physical Education and Sports first started in 1996-1997 academic year under the Faculty of Education as a 4-year morning and night undergraduate programme in Bozkurt. In 2001-2002 academic year, Department of Education moved from Bozkurt to Incilipınar campus. Since 2002-2003 academic year, 20 male and 20 female, total of 40 students continue their education. School of Sport Sciences and Technology was established depending on the 10,656 numbered and 18/04/2002 dated paper of the Ministry of National Education, and 2809 numbered and 28/03/1983 dated 30th clause of the Council of Ministers decision on the date of 25 / 04/2002. With the establishment of School of Sport Sciences and Technology, Physical Education and Sports Program of Faculty of Education has been transferred. Our program started regular education in the 2004-2005 academic year with the participation of 40 new students and previous students from the programme on Faculty of Education, Department of Physical Education (2nd, 3rd , and 4th classes).

Adopting universal values in the light of Ataturk's principles and revolution, respecting human rights, using science and technology by the original and aesthetic values of modern physical education and sports training with sports and sports culture, spreading love and having targeted individuals to grow in this quality by effecting communities to benefit in this way. Being a pioneer to create a community institution with individuals through the studies of graduates and students by improving the quality of national and international scientific research as a physical entity.
