The Department of Industrial Engineering educates students who will take an active part in all processes from design to management in companies. It started offering a graduate program in the fall of 2002-2003 and an undergraduate program in the fall of 2004-2005. Its graduates have added value to the development of different sectors since 2008. The overall objective is to become a department which carries out academic research in the field of Industrial Engineering (IE) to contribute to the scientific development at a global level by integrating engineering and social sciences; to utilize the scientific findings to generate solutions to development of business systems at local, national and international levels, to improve work environments and to add value to the environmentally sustainable industrial development. The department of IE also aims to graduate well equipped industrial engineers, who are environmentally conscious and who hold high levels of ethical values, to improve the quality of their work, their work environments and the society they live in.
