MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENT

General Information

The Department of Mathematics has six divisions: Analysis and Theory of Functions, Geometry, Applied Mathematics, Algebra and Number Theory, Fundamentals of Mathematics and Mathematics Logic, Topology. There are 10 full professors, 7 associate professors, 3 assistant professors, 1 lecturer and 4 research assistants in the Department. There are two formal education programs in the Department of Mathematics. These are primary and secondary education programs. The undergraduate bachelor’s degree typically takes four years to complete. There are also Master’s and PhD programs in our Deprtment. In addition to teaching classes in the Department, the Department of Mathematics also serves some other departments of Pamukkale University by providing mathematics courses. The Department has got bilateral agreements with some oversea universities in terms of Erasmus program.


Objective

The aim of the program is to produce graduates who are well-trained in all aspects of Mathematics. More specifically, to train students to be self-reliant in their chosen field of Mathematics, to produce students who are adequately prepared for postgraduate work, to produce students with good educational foundation for a range of career in public service, industries and commerce, to produce Mathematicians that can be self-employed.
